House price growth slowed in January, according to the latest Halifax House Price Index.
Property prices hit another record high last month after edging up by 0.3% – the lowest rise since June 2021.
The annual rate of growth remains steady at 9.7%, taking the average price of a home to a new record high of £276,759.
Meanwhile, transaction volumes returned towards pre-Covid levels.
